Over 100 villagers from Windsor, Mutorashanga in Zvimba North Constituency, have benefited from a free medical outreach programme organised by the provincial ZANU PF affiliate, Boyz Dza Mdara. The outreach aimed at complementing the Government’s efforts to provide quality medical care and involved various stakeholders from the medical sector supporting this noble cause.

Residents praised the initiative as a vital intervention in an area with limited access to health facilities.

Masango village head, Mr David Mupedzamasango, noted that residents often travelled over 20km to access healthcare in Mutorashanga or other parts of Mashonaland Central province.

He expressed gratitude for the service and appealed for more boreholes to minimise disease outbreaks by ensuring access to clean water.

Mr Pedziswa Togarepi, village head of Ndengeza, said the elderly, who struggle to travel to clinics, were able to receive free check-ups, thanks to the outreach.

He commended the initiative for bringing essential services closer to the people.

Various health sector players participated in the outreach, offering free check-ups. Ms Michelle Phiri, an optometrist, emphasised the importance of the initiative for optometry patients, providing free consultations and discounted spectacles to accommodate different budgets.

Government reiterated its commitment to enhancing the health sector and encouraged all Zimbabweans to contribute to improving healthcare.
