Zvimba Rural District Council is set to surpass some of its 100-day targets after it successfully completed a classroom block and two victim friendly stations.
The local authority also completed constructing Chirau Clinic staff quarters, while the construction of another semi-detached house at a clinic in Ward 35 is underway.
Three community halls are also being constructed at Guzha in Ward 9, Chivhere in Ward 1 and Chenzou in Ward 28.
In an interview recently, Zvimba RDC chief executive Mr Peter Hlola said the local authority, as part of the 100-day plan, has made headway in implementing projects that have the potential to change the face of the district.
A classroom block established at Chirau Primary School, he said, was now ready for commissioning.
Mr Hlola said the local authority has since invested 40 percent of the budgeted $240 000 to build three more schools.
“Council has so far started the construction of at least two blocks per every school site in the district. We discovered that some children are walking very long distances to and from school.
“So we decided to build Wilchens Secondary School in Ward 17, Dalkeich Primary School in Ward 18 and Ayshire Primary School in Ward 17,” he said.
