CAPS United defender Hardlife Zvirekwi believes the time has come for the club to end the six-year jinx of losing to DeMbare. Speaking at the club’s weekly Press briefing, Zvirekwi, who was in the company of coach Lloyd Chitembwe and defender Justice Jangano, said this was time to silence their big and noisy neighbours. “The mentality right now, the guys want to break the jinx, obviously records are meant to be broken and we are looking forward to breaking some records now.

“The Harare Derby has a lot of things inside that Derby. “It has an emotional part and also it is for the pride of the team so I think it is high time we gain the pride of CAPS United and start winning these Derbies.

“I think the feeling is electrifying at the same time it makes the adrenalin pump and the next thing that comes to your mind is to want to make that crowd go quiet by performing well,” he said.

The former Gunners man says the team spirit at the moment is great and can only be rewarded with a victory. “I think the guys are preparing well and everyone is confident and we believe that this time around we can make it.

“As a team we have been playing well, I think we have been in good form and the team cohesion and understanding has been quite high. “We just have to keep an eye on the 11 players on the pitch.” Jangano said he wanted to silence the DeMbare fans. I am motivated to silence them,” said Jangano.
