Magistrate Sangster Tavengwa has remanded a 54-year-old man from Mberengwa (name withheld) in custody until January 17, 2025, for allegedly raping his eight-year-old daughter.
The rape allegedly occurred in December 2024 and the man threatened to murder his daughter should she reveal the ordeal.
Circumstances are that the man was sharing with his two daughters aged eight and four. The girls slept on a mat on the floor.
On the day in question, the man came to bed and found the two sisters sleeping. He then allegedly ordered the older daughter to sleep on the bed and he raped her once.
He allegedly threatened to murder her if she revealed the ordeal to anyone.
The minor however, narrated her ordeal to a neighbour the next morning, leading to the arrest of the accused. (@Masvingo Mirror)
