business plans.
The council’s, information and publicity officer, Mr Tanzikwa Guranungo said the training programme is a follow-up to the Entrepreneurship and Leadership Development Programme launched by Youth Development, Indigenisation and Empowerment Minister Saviour Kasukuwere in Nyanga last month.

The programme targeted at aspiring young entrepreneurs, beneficiaries and intended beneficiaries of the Youth Fund.
Mr Guranungo said the training would take place every Wednesday at the ZYC offices in Harare and at provincial centres around the country until December this year.
“The Wednesday sessions were launched last week with the training of 30 youths at the ZYC head office in Harare. The training clinics are targeting more than 1 000 youths from all the provinces by end of the year,” said Mr Guranungo

He noted that participants from across the country have begun registration and facilitators were moving from province to province every week to groom young people wanting to venture into business.
“Next week on Thursday the training will be conducted sessions in Bulawayo and followed by Victoria Falls,” said Mr Guranungo
“They are equipped with knowledge on starting up and running a successful business, financial management and growing their businesses. After the training, youths will be expected to use the knowledge that they would have gained to better their community and the country at large,” he said

Mr Guranungo urged youths to join in the program since the training was aimed at countering unemployment.
“Youths that will have received training would get preference in terms of funding as well as assistance as they set up their businesses,” he said
Some of the topics covered by the training programme include the case for business, choice of business, challenges and co-ordination of a business.
