A TOTAL of 1 547 youths are graduating today (Friday) from the Guyu Youth Service Training Centre in Gwanda under the Youth Service in Zimbabwe (YSZ) programme.
The graduates are from Intakes 1 and 2 of 2026, with 762 attending the graduation ceremony while 785 are graduating in absentia.
Minister of State for Matabeleland South Provincial Affairs and Devolution Albert Nguluvhe is presiding over the graduation pass-out parade.
Upon arrival at the centre, Minister Nguluvhe inspected the parade mounted by the graduating youths.
The graduation comes as Government continues efforts to equip young people with skills, discipline and values aimed at improving their employability and participation in national development.
Guyu Youth Training Centre resumed operations last year after nearly two decades following its rehabilitation by Government.

The Second Republic has entrusted YSZ with spearheading the grooming of young people through the resuscitation of Youth Service institutions across the country.
The programme’s vision is to develop a well-cultured and disciplined youth that embraces Zimbabwean values and identity by 2030.
Its mission is to develop patriotic, disciplined, responsible and resilient young people equipped with relevant skills to participate meaningfully in nation building.
The Youth Service in Zimbabwe programme, formerly known as the National Youth Service, was revised in 2022 to address contemporary challenges facing young people.
