Virimai Vengesai (23) was sentenced to 16 months behind bars and four were suspended for five years on condition of good behaviour.
Passing sentence, Harare magistrate Mr Lazarus Murendo said the courts had a duty to protect society from people like Vengesai.

Prosecutor Ms Memory Chiweshe proved that on December 2, Vengesai was arrested on charges of unlawful entry into many households and theft in the Epworth area.
Vengesai was found in possession of two electric generators, a television and a DVD. During interviews, he testified that he had stolen the goods from Buhera but was not sure where exactly.
