10 000 youths set to grace 21st February Movement celebrations

About 10 000 youths from Zimba-bwe’s 10 provinces are expected to converge in Harare to celebrate President Mugabe’s birthday this weekend.
Zanu-PF national secretary for youth Cde Absolom Sikhosana said all was on track for a successful hosting of the main 21st February Movement celebrations on Saturday at the Harare International Conference Centre.
“We are seized with arrangements and we are tying up all loose ends and outstanding areas.
“The bulk of the work has been done and we assure you of thunderous and exciting celebrations on Saturday,” he said.
Cde Sikhosana said young people from across the political divide would have an opportunity to interact with President Mugabe, who champions self-rule and majority economic empowerment.
Delegations from the 10 provinces, Cde Sikhosana said, would start arri-ving in Harare starting today.
“Starting Thursday we will take time to familiarise the youth with Harare and take them to some identified areas of historical significance as part of the celebrations,” he said.
Cde Sikhosana said some of the places to be visited included the Highfield home where President Mugabe lived.
The 21st February Movement seeks to imbue young Zimbabweans with the principles and patriotism of the nation’s founding leader, President Mugabe.
He was born on February 21, 1924.
The movement is apolitical and its major thrust is to foster a sense of nationhood.
