One of the beneficiaries of the scheme, Shepherd Murungweni hailed the assistance extended to his disabled wife Caroline Kaseke.
“I thank the Mayor’s Cheer Fund board for organising this project which has made life easier for my wife,” Murungweni said.
His wife was crippled last year after giving birth to twins.
Martha Nyama, who is mother to Tellme Mugadza, one of the beneficiaries of the cheer fund said she was delighted by the gift.
“I thank the Lord for showing me that we are living in a community that cares for the needy,” Nyama said.
Funds for the scheme are raised each year under the mayor’s Christmas Cheer Fund through different activities.
