TWELVE people died on the spot when a Harare bound Timboon bus with 40 passengers on board crashed along the Chivhu-Murambinda Road yesterday morning.
National police spokesperson, Assistant Commission Paul Nyathi, confirmed the accident.
“The ZRP reports a fatal road traffic accident in which a Harare bound Timboom bus which had 40 passengers crashed at the 5km peg along Chivhu-Murambinda Road.

“Twelve people, including the driver, died and police details are still attending to the accident. More details will be released in due course,” he said.
A source who was at the scene said:
“The driver lost control of the bus at the curve just before a small bridge and the bus ploughed into several trees before it overturned.
“Twelve people died on the spot and others were critically injured,” said the source.
