A 38-YEAR-OLD sex predator has been brought to justice, and slapped with a 126-year prison sentence for unleashing a reign of terror on women in Mashonaland Central Province.

His heinous crimes included six counts of brutal rape and three counts of armed robbery, striking fear into the hearts of his victims and their families.

Between January and December 2023 Luckmore Mazambani carried out a vicious assault on solitary women, deliberately preying on those who resided by themselves.

Under the cloak of night, Mazambani would forcibly enter his victims’ homes, wielding menacing tools like machetes and axe-handles to instil fear and gain control.

In a statement on X, the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe (NPAZ) said, “Once inside he would subject his victims to a double horror: robbery and repeated brutal rapes. He stole cash, cellphones, groceries and other valuables. He brutally sexually assaulted his victims with extreme violence.”

Mazambani looted his victims’ homes, taking valuable items such as money, phones, food supplies, and other personal belongings.
He was convicted of 6 rapes and 3 robberies, and sentenced to 15 years per rape and 12 years per robbery. He will effectively save 111-years behind bars.
