The Ministry of Women Affairs, Community Small and Medium Enterprises in Bulawayo Province is commemorating the International Women’s Day today at the Silwane Youth Centre in Pumula South. This year’s theme, “For All Women and Girls: Rights, Equality, and Empowerment,” highlights the ongoing fight for gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls.

The event has attracted a diverse audience, including local councillors, Members of Parliament, and representatives from various organisations dedicated to women’s rights and empowerment. Notable attendees include members from Emthonjeni Women’s Forum and Musasa Project, both of which have long been champions for women’s emancipation.

Internationally, the day is celebrated on 8 March. This year, the National commemorations were held in Mutare on March 7.
