The case was dropped due to lack of incriminating evidence.
The State led by Mr Stanley Mafoko withdrew the charges against the 13 when they appeared before Chivi magistrate Mr Stanley Mambanje.

They had been accused of stealing 93 kilogrammes of cornflakes from a haulage truck that had been involved in an accident.

Mr Mafoko however, told the court that there was not enough evidence that the teachers had stolen the cornflakes and stashed them in a commuter omnibus they were travelling in.
