executive Dr Andrew Matibiri said in Harare last week.
The applications are for either conditional or full auction floor licences.
Dr Matibiri identified the applicants as:

l Gold Leaf Tobacco Sales Floors who have targeted 2011 and want to be situated in the Chitungwiza Industrial Area

l Karoi Tobacco Sales Floor will be situated in the town of Karoi and intends to start this year.

Pressed to comment on the applicants’ chances of getting the board’s nod to set up the new floors, Dr Matibiri said he was equally in the dark.
“At the moment the board is still considering the applications and I can not say who will make it or who will not,” Dr Matibiri said.
Recently there have been widespread calls for TIMB to allow more auction floors to open and ease congestion at Tobacco Sales Floor, Boka and Millennium floors.
