Mashonaland West Province’s health sector got a major boost after receiving 14 utility vehicles from the Global Fund.

Provincial Affairs and Devolution Minister for the province, Marian Chombo handed over the vehicles to all the seven districts of the province.

Some of the vehicles have been allocated to referral centres, including Chinhoyi Provincial Hospital, Kadoma General Hospital and Chinhoyi Municipality.

Minister Chombo said the vehicles bolster the Government’s drive to devolve services to all parts of the country.

“This significant milestone aligns with Vision 2030 which seeks to transform Zimbabwe into upper-middle-income by the year 2030,” she said.

Receiving the vehicles, Provincial Medical Director Dr Celestino Dhege said the province will use them prudently to provide health services to all parts of the province.
