“Our first Christmas baby was born at 02:45am and it was a boy,” said Ms Jane Dadzi, the hospital’s public relations manager.

Ms Dadzi said the hospital recorded a set of triplets which were all girls.
The Avenues Clinic recorded two deliveries, both girls. Matron-in-charge Ruth Mundandi said the first baby arrived at 07:52 in the morning weighing 2,4 kilogrammes.

Efforts to get statistics from other hospitals were fruitless.
