180 artists, athletes receive Covid-19 cushion funds

AT least 102 artistes from Manicaland have received $5000 rtgs each to cushion them against the effects of the Covid19 lockdown.

Provincial arts and culture promotion officer, Mr Blessing Mukhozhiwa, said the disbursement with help the artists who are currently out of business due to bans on shows and concerts.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Sports and Recreation’s Mutare District officer, Clifford Mujoko says 79 athletes from Manicaland also benefited from the cushion allowance from government.

The purpose of the funds is to cushion athletes and artists who depended on sports and shows respectively for income but are not getting anything.
