THE 2025 Chibuku Super Cup has already packed in drama and numbers that speak for themselves. Nineteen goals have come in open play, with MWOS forward Arthur Banda leading the scorers on two. Seventeen other players share a single strike each in a tournament now set for the semi-finals.

Highlanders will face Dynamos, while Castle Lager Premier Soccer League newcomers MWOS meet Triangle United at venues still to be confirmed. Eight matches so far have needed penalties to settle the outcome.

Dynamos, coached by Kelvin Kaindu and chasing back-to-back titles, have made penalty shootouts their trademark. They have reached the last four after edging Yadah, Simba Bhora and ZPC Kariba in shootouts. Highlanders and Triangle United, both past winners, also remain in the mix. MWOS are the surprise package after a 3-1 quarter-final win over Bikita Minerals.

The tournament has already claimed big names. Simba Bhora, Scottland, Manica Diamonds, Chicken Inn, Greenfuel, ZPC Kariba, Bikita Minerals, Herentals, FC Platinum, Yadah Stars, Kwekwe United, CAPS United, TelOne and Ngezi Platinum Stars have all been eliminated.

Highlanders last won the trophy in 2019 under Pieter De Jongh. Triangle United took it in 2018. The Chibuku Super Cup remains Zimbabwe’s premier knockout competition and comes with a prized ticket to the CafConfederation Cup.
