2 isolated travellers Covid-19 negative

Zimbabwe has so far isolated two travellers who could have come into contact with Covid-19, the new coronavirus, but both tested negative and have been released from quarantine although they will be monitored.

Both were identified at Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport upon arrival as a result of their travel through the epicentre of the infection and were quarantined and tested as part of the policy to prevent the spread of the virus into Zimbabwe.

Covid-19 is a virus that causes illnesses with symptoms including pneumonia, high fever, flu-like symptoms, chest pains, diarrhoea and shortness of breath.

Covid-19 is highly contagious and has no cure.

The infection first came light in China’s Wuhan province and has so far claimed 3 048 lives, while over 89 000 cases have been reported globally, mainly in mainland China.
