RENAISSANCE Financial Holdings Limited shareholder Mr Patterson Timba says the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe placed his bank under curatorship to avoid repaying a US$9,4 million loan.
The accusation is contained in a High Court application filed by Mr Timba’s lawyers on Tuesday.
The court papers show that the central bank owes Renaissance Merchant Bank US$8,4 million, while Lunar Chickens is indebted to the tune of US$1 million.
Lunar Chickens is believed to be owned by RBZ Governor Dr Gideon Gono.
Kunonga’s staff evictions illegal: High Court

THE High Court has nullified the eviction of 14 staffers at Daramombe Mission by Archbishop Nolbert Kunonga’s Anglican Church of the Province of Zimbabwe saying the move was illegal.
Justice Chinembiri Bhunu ruled that the workers should immediately be reinstated to their respective workstations.
Archbishop Kunonga and his compatriots – through the deputy sheriff – evicted two headmasters from the mission’s primary and secondary schools, their deputies, nurses, boarding masters, teachers, the hostel matron and tuckshop keepers while armed with Justice Ben Hlatshwayo’s order.

SOUTH AFRICA yesterday deported 261 Zimbabweans who were living in that country illegally while 300 more such immigrants are expected to arrive at Beitbridge Border Post today.
This follows the expiry of the July 31 deadline for them to regularise their papers.
The first batch of 261 Zimbabweans arrived here around midday yesterday in a convoy of four buses under heavy security.
