Flea market operators venture into clothes manufacturing

ONE of Bulawayo’s flea markets, Fort Eleven, which intends to start manufacturing its own clothing merchandise, has secured 10 sewing machines worth about $2 500.
Fort Eleven Flea Market public relations manager Mr Ndumiso Dube said the operators at the flea market pooled resources together to buy the sewing machines in South Africa.
Mwana Africa continues to engage Government on indigenisation

MINING concern Mwana Africa has said it will continue to engage the Government over the issue of implementing the Indigenisation and Economic Empowerment Policy.
Government this year promulgated the Indigenisation and Economic Empowerment Act which stipulates among other things that all foreign-owned entities operating in the country whose net turnover exceeds $500 000 should cede 51 percent of their shareholding to indigenous businesses.
