Blitzbokke storm into Dubai quarter-finals
South Africa moved into the quarter finals of the Emirates Airline Dubai Sevens with a resounding 36-7 victory over the USA in their second pool match at the Sevens stadium.
After struggling to beat the Eagles 17-12 last week in their pool game, the Blitzbokke turned it on against the Americans, showing them up for flair and pace as halfback Branco du Preez played a vital part in their turn of fortunes.

Bring back the cane in schools

The official position is that no teacher is allowed to use the cane to administer corporal punishment on pupils in schools. It is policy in schools, no teacher can use corporal punishment as a corrective measure, no matter what offence the pupil would have committed. A teacher who dares use corporal punishment does not only get chastised by an array of statutes that regulate his/her conduct during the discharge of duty, but also risks condemnation from parents and child rights society.
