Missing boy: Fresh details emerge
Crime Reporter
POLICE have found new information that may assist in investigating the case of Given Flint Matapure (3) who went missing at the Harare Agricultural Show in August last year. Deputy police spokesperson Chief Superintendent Oliver Mandipaka yesterday confirmed the new development and said investigations were continuing.
“We have received fresh information that we believe will assist us to a greater extent to appreciate what could have happened to the child,” he said.
Chief Supt Mandipaka, who could not divulge the latest information, said the Criminal Investigations Department Homicide Section was following the leads.
“Our CID Homicide Section is carrying out intensive and thorough investigations on the matter. We still appeal for any information that would assist in probing this matter further,” he said.
On the skeletal remains that were discovered at the Harare Exhibition Park in November last year, Chief Supt Mandipaka said they were yet to receive a report from a pathologist.
“There are also indications that the bones (skeletal remains) picked up could be mixed,” he said.

CIVIL servants unions met in Harare yesterday and resolved to storm Public Service Minister Lucia Matibenga’s office next week demanding an audience with her over their salaries and conditions of service. Speaking after an Apex Council meeting, representatives of the unions said they would besiege Minister Matibenga without an invitation.
They said they would immediately declare a nationwide strike if they failed to meet Minister Matibenga.
Minister Matibenga could not be reached for comment, but her deputy Andrew Langa said Government was not ready with its position.
“Government will respond,” he said. “It’s a question of time and patience. We will communicate officially once we are ready with our position. For the meantime they should know that Government is committed to improving their working conditions.”

ugh there are talks of breakthroughs in the research into possible HIV treatment, the bleak truth is that right now there is no cure for HIV.
