Interfin heads for liquidation
Business Reporter INTERFIN Banking Corporation could be heading for liquidation, considering the financial outlay required to bring its balance sheet back to health, sources have said.
The bank was on Monday placed under curatorship by the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe for the next six months, after it ran into liquidity problems.
Mr Peter Bailey of KPMG was appointed the curator.

African tobacco farmers oppose WHO ban

AFRICAN tobacco growers are lobbying their governments to resist the World Health Organisation’s ban on tobacco arguing that it will affect them economically.
This came up at an International Tobacco Growers’ Association-Africa meeting held recently in Zambia.
Agribank opens branch in Chivi

Agribank Chivi is the bank’s 48th branch across Zimbabwe. Speaking at the launch of the new branch in Chivi on Tuesday, Agribank chief executive Mr Somukosi Malaba said Chivi presented good prospects for the bank.
