Tuku’s new musical ‘Masango Bodo’ premieres at 7 Arts

SUPERSTAR Oliver Mtukudzi will add another feather to his cap when his new musical “Masanga Bodo” premieres at the 7 Arts Theatre in Avondale, Harare, this Friday.
This is Tuku’s third musical after “Was My Child” and “Nzou neMhuru” which were released to critical acclaim.

Singer Prince Mafukidze is up for Africa Gospel Awards scheduled for London, England, at the Hippodrome on July 7, 2012.
Mafukidze, who is more popularly known as “The Real Prince Mwana Wamambo”, was nominated for Best Gospel Artiste Southern Africa although it is not clear for which song. It is highly likely that it was the video of “Swedera Mudhuze” which did the rounds on YouTube.

Star Brite heads for finale

President leaves for UN conference in Brazil

President Mugabe left Harare last night to attend the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development (Rio+20), which begins in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on Wednesday.
He is expected to join other world leaders and other stakeholders in formulating strategies aimed at reducing poverty, advancing social equity and ensuring environmental protection.
The three-day interface is taking place in Rio de Janeiro to mark the 20th Anniversary of the 1992 UN Conference on Environment and Development held in the same city.
It also coincides with the 10th Anniversary of the 2002 World Summit on Sustainable Development in Johannesburg, South Africa.
The conference will home in on two central themes: “A green economy in the context of sustainable development (poverty eradication) and the institutional framework for sustainable development”.
