Tuskers resume training
Ricky ZililoREIGNING Castle Logan Cup champions Matabeleland Tuskers Cricket Franchise resume their training on Wednesday after a three-week festive break ahead of their clash against Southern Rocks at Queens Sports Club on Saturday.
The two teams will clash in a Pro-50 One-Day game on Saturday and then square off in a Twenty20 match on the following day.
Winners’ Open tourney to start tomorrow

NewZim Steel owes Kwekwe Council $9 million
Midlands Bureau ChiefNEWZIM Steel, an Essar Holdings (Pvt) Limited subsidiary, still owes Kwekwe City Council $9 million in unpaid water bills as the company is yet to commence operations, Kwekwe Mayor, Councillor Shadreck Tobaiwa has revealed.
The water debt was accrued over the years when the steel company was operating as Ziscosteel.
Nkayi Farmers optimistic
Chronicle ReporterFARMERS in Nkayi District have expressed satisfaction with the rains received in the area so far saying they are hopeful that they will get a bumper harvest if it continued raining.
While most parts of the country are having erratic rains, most parts of Nkayi especially the northern parts received rainfall early and farmers have already planted.
President assists Tsholotsho farmers with tractors

PRESIDENT Mugabe has sent five tractors to Tsholotsho District to assist villagers who lost their cattle because of drought in tilling the land during this year’s farming season.
Zanu-PF Politburo member and MP for Umguza Dr Obert Mpofu yesterday also sent two more tractors to the district to complement President’s Mugabe initiative.
College fleeces hundreds
Temba DubeA number of people from Bulawayo were allegedly tricked into signing forms by a distance education college in Harare, which has started deducting money from their salaries before enrolling them.
Complainants said the Certified Commerce and Industry Personnel (CCIP) college has been deducting amounts ranging from $40 to 60 from their salaries since the beginning of the year. They said many efforts to get the college to stop have been unsuccessful.
