EDITORIAL COMMENT: Corrupt police officers must be rooted out of force

 

The firing of seven traffic police officers should send a loud and clear message that the Zimbabwe Republic Police does not condone corruption. The force has in fact declared zero tolerance on corruption. According to the ZRP national Deputy Officer Commanding Traffic, Assistant Commissioner Kenny Mtombeni, seven traffic officers were fired while the disciplinary process for 23 others is yet to be finalised. He said the fired officers were mostly accused of soliciting for bribes.
