President mourns crash victims
PRESIDENT Mnangagwa yesterday extended his condolences to families that lost relatives when two commuter omnibuses collided head-on along the Harare-Nyamapanda highway on Sunday evening, resulting in the death of 14 people. Twelve people died on the scene of the accident near Juru Growth Point in Mashonaland East Province. Two more died from their injuries on admission at Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals.
DEMBARE APPEAL EPOUPA CASE
DYNAMOS have lodged an appeal with FIFA following the world soccer body’s ruling ordering the Harare giants to pay their ex-striker Joel Christian Epoupa in excess of US$16 000 in hard currency they owe him. Zim inflation rises to 31pc *To decelerate in the New Year *Austerity measures to curtail spending
The country’s annual rate of inflation increased by 10,16 percentage points to 31,01 percent in November from 20,85 percent in October as speculative price increases took toll on the economy. Analysts, however, said the figures announced yesterday are still too far for the country to enter hyperinflation zone and indications are the inflation rate will decelerate on the back of some austerity measures Government has put in place to curtail domestic spending.
