This is the first case of cholera to be reported this year.
Ministry of Health and Child Welfare disease prevention and epidemiology director Dr Portia Manangazira said Government was on alert to deal with any case that might arise.
She said there were enough drug stocks and aqua tablets in the affected areas.
“Teams are on the ground for surveillance and our partners are assisting us in managing the issue of water and sanitation,” Dr Manangazira said.
She said another case was also reported in Chiredzi.
Dr Manangazira said traditionally, cholera in Chiredzi usually spreads into Manicaland.
