George Maponga in Masvingo
The 3rd edition of the annual Masvingo Business Expo kicked -off today with more than 100 public and private companies participating.
The annual expo brings together public and private firms, and the academia to map ways of fully exploiting economic opportunities to power further growth in line with Vision 2030.
Policymakers are also in attendance at the expo which is part of Masvingo province’s quest to morph into a US$8 billion economy by 2030.
Officially opening the expo, Permanent Secretary for Masvingo Provincial Affairs and Devolution Dr Addmore Pazvakavambwa said Masvingo has vast investment opportunities in areas such as mining, agriculture and manufacturing.

He expressed optimism that this year’s edition of the expo will consolidate investment and growth gains that were initiated during the past two years.
Dr Pazvakavambwa also notes that the province is taking advantage of its vast natural resources base to engender rural industrialisation.
Among areas of focus at the expo are opportunities that abound in the province in areas such as mining and agriculture which continue to anchor the Masvingo provincial economy.
Companies exhibiting at the expo include Tongaat Huletts Zimbabwe, Byword Motors and tertiary institutions such as Great Zimbabwe University.
