A SAKUBVA man was jailed five days for stealing a bottle of Vaseline from an N. Richards Wholesale outlet.
Brian Ndlovu (22) was caught by an alert security guard as he tried to run away with an unpaid bottle of the jelly.

He pleaded guilty to the offence when he appeared before senior Mutare magistrate, Mrs Sekai Chiundura.
“I wanted to sell the Vaseline Your Worship. Things are tough at home so I am trying to earn a living. I stay in Sakubva with my uncle and we don’t have money for rent and food,” he said.

“So you wanted to eat Vaseline?” asked Mrs Chiundura.
Mr Donald Mudadirwa prosecuted.

Ndlovu was advised to look for other proper ways to earn a living and was sentenced to five days behind bars, with an option to pay $20 fine.
