A SAKUBVA man (29) was on Monday fined $8 000 for bashing his girlfriend (27) after he saw her with another lover.
Valentine Sachikonye could not fathom seeing Priscillah Mudimu in the company of her new suitor only identified as Max and assaulted her.
He was fined $8 000 or 20 days imprisonment when he appeared before Mutare magistrate, Ms Perseverance Makhala for contravening Section 3 (1) (a) as read Section (4) (1) of the Domestic Violence Act, Chapter 5:16 (Physical abuse).
Mr Chris Munyuku prosecuted.
Last week on Friday, Sachikonye approached Mudimu who was with her boyfriend known as Max and started harassing her.
Sachikonye assaulted Mudimu with fists on the face several times, accusing her of being a cheat.
