9 dead- 3 burnt to ashes- and 3 injured as Honda Fit vehicles collide head-on

A FATAL road traffic accident claimed nine lives and left three people injured when two Honda Fit vehicles collided head-on.

In a statement, the National Spokesperson of Police Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi said the traffic accident occurred around 2:30 am on 18 December 2023 at the 43km peg along Harare-Mukumbura road.

He said a Honda Fit which was traveling towards Bindura with four passengers collided with another Honda Fit which had seven passengers resulting in one of the vehicles catching fire and burning three victims beyond recognition.

“The bodies of the victims were taken to Concession Hospital mortuary for post-mortem while the injured are admitted to the same hospital,” said Asst Comm Nyathi.
