A peek into ‘The Colour of Hope’

LAST week I promised to give you a synopsis of Colour Of Hope written by Taban Lo Liyong. The following is a teaser on the set book presented by a Literature teacher and guru in the subject at Knowstics College, Mr Godfrey Nyamurundira.

Watch the space for more on the set book in future editions.
Writes Mr Nyamurundura: THE COLOUR OF HOPE was authored by Taban Lo Liyong and is an A-Level set book.

In the play the Queen was given to the Chief by a conquered tribe in order to appease vanguishers so that they cease persecuting them.

It is apparent that the Queen does not love her husband as she feels that she was used as a sacrificial lamb in order to protect her tribe.

She cuckolded her husband twice and attempted to food poison him.
She sees the foreign culture brought by the Chief and which is being imposed onto them repulsive.
