A HARARE municipal cop has been accused by his wife of being a specialist in spending his money on booze while neglecting his family, which includes three minor children.
Violet Chingarande accused her husband, Gift Mwadziva, of always squandering his entire salary on booze and turning his back on the family.
“He has not been looking after his family, and doesn’t bring anything home.
“All he does is drink his salary.
“I’m a security guard and I earn US$100, which I have been using to cater for the children, but it’s not enough.”
Gift denied turning his back on the family, saying Violet was ungrateful.
“She is lying that I do not cater for the family.
“She’s saying all this because of the money she now earns from the job she recently got.
“How was she surviving with the kids before she started working?”
Gift was ordered to pay US$120 with effect from January 30.
