A WORLD CUP WINNER WITH A VERY FAMILIAR NAME IS COMING

A WORLD Cup winner is coming to this country and he has a name which has a familiar ring to it you would think he is one of us.

Shivam DUBE has a name that is common among the Samaitas of this country.

But, that’s where it all ends.

This is because, unlike any of us, this Dube has a World Cup winners medal after helping India win the ICC T20 World Cup in Barbados on Saturday.

He featured in the final and played a crucial role in his team’s victory over South Africa.

Dube scored 133 runs at the World Cup, with a strike rate of 114.65 and at an average of 22.16 with a highest score of 34.

He is part of the Indian side who are coming here for a five-match T20I series.

The final itself was a redemption for Dube who had been facing harsh criticism for a first-ball duck in the semi-final against England with some critics labelling him the weakest link in India’s batting line-up.

According to mykhel.com, there were calls for Sanju Samson to replace him in the final but the team management decided to back Dube.

And, Dube proved his worth when India were in trouble at 103-4 after 13.3 overs, following Axar Patel’s dismissal for 47 off 31 balls.

Coming in under pressure, Dube joined Virat Kohli, who was struggling to find his rhythm, and played a vital knock of 27 off 16 balls, including three sixes and a four, at a strike rate of 168 – the highest among Indian batters.

His partnership of 57 with Kohli for the fifth wicket was crucial in stabilising the innings.

Dube’s aggressive approach helped India accelerate at a critical juncture.

His innings ended in the final over, but not before making a significant impact.

Dube’s performance silenced his critics, proving he could handle pressure and contribute effectively.

Dube redeemed himself and justified the faith placed in him by the team management. – Sports Reporter/mykhel.com
