The Affirmative Action Group-Africa (AAG) leadership yesterday met with Zimbabwe’s Ambassador to South Africa Mr David Hamadziripi and pledged to work with the embassy in advancing the National Development Strategy 1 economic blueprint and Vision 2030.

AAG-Africa leadership, excluding Zimbabwe, led by Mr Phibeon Mutibura said their leadership was in full and unequivocal support of President Mnangagwa’s economic policies.

“Zimbabwe’s being named the fastest growing economy in SADC is real testimony of the visionary leadership of President Mnangagwa,” he said.

“Diaspora is full of critical human capital ready to come back home and contribute to the development of the economy.

“We are ready to mobilise investment and channel to key clusters and growth sectors. We also undertook to support the embassy in uniting the diaspora community in Africa and world over.”

Mr Mutibura said they also updated Ambassador Hamadziripi about the US$20 million and a Memorandum of Understanding signed between AAG and Lovol from China.

“This is a great initiative to empower youth, women and more importantly to formalise and plug the illegal gold market by signing a tripartite agreement with Fidelity Printers,” he said.

“We are committed to change the negative perception about Zimbabwe and becoming brand ambassadors by telling a positive story about the real facts of economic growth and infrastructure development.”
