AAG launches awareness campaign

weekend in Harare’s Mabvuku suburb where hundreds of youths and informal traders attended.
AAG founding president Mr Philip Chiyangwa, current president Dr Keith Guzah and other senior officials met the informal traders with the aim of helping address some challenges affecting their trade.
Addressing scores of people who attended the launch, Dr Guzah and Mr Chiyangwa told the informal traders to participate and benefit from the on going indigenisation and empowerment drive spearheaded by President Mugabe.
“Affirmative action is a bulwark against economic injustices in the post-colonial Zimbabwe.
“So this nationwide economic awareness campaign seeks to empower the youth and informal traders who are at the grassroots and equip them with intellectual capacity, skills in growing their businesses,” Dr Guzah said.
He said President Mugabe has already made it clear that every Zimbabwean should benefit from the indigenisation programme and moreso the youth who are the vanguard of the country.
“Indigenisation is not only for a selected few. It is for everyone and it should not discriminate against anyone,” he said adding that all indigenous people should be able to benefit from the programme.
Dr Guzah said other campaigns would be launched in Highfield, Mufakose and other townships before spreading to all provinces and rural areas.
He appealed to Youth Development, Indigenisation and Economic Empowerment Minister Saviour Kasukuwere to consider initiating share ownership schemes in urban areas.
The AAG executive will be unveiling new chapters throughout the country and at tertiary institutions to ensure that Zimbabweans at the grassroots understand the scope of the indigenisation drive for them to benefit from the programme.
