A HARARE woman says her abusive husband had the guts to chase her from their home even though the house is owned by her brother.
She was granted a peace order at the Harare Civil Court yesterday.
Jane Sanyanga said her husband, Wellington Tivaone, chased her from their matrimonial home, which also happens to be her brother’s house.
She said Tivaone was an irresponsible husband while she does menial jobs to support the family.
“Your Worship, my husband chased me from the house, which belongs to my late brother, who was married to Tivaone’s sister.
“He never supports his kids but he follows me to my workplace to insult me.
“He took my ID, phone and children’s birth certificates and I want him to return them,” she said.
Tivaone disputed her testimony, saying his wife was not loyal to him and that pushed him to take the documents.
“I stumbled on a string of messages and nude pictures she was exchanging with her five lovers and I left home for two days.
“After leaving home, I called her sister, but her phone was unreachable and I decided to send her away to her sister’s house.”
Jane was granted the peace order by magistrate Sharon Mashavira and told to return to her matrimonial home.
