ACCZ conducts peace rallies

THE Apostolic Christian Council of Zimbabwe (ACCZ) is embarking on nationwide peace campaign rallies.

Four rallies have been slated for Harare. Three days before election date, members will gather at the National Sports Stadium in Harare.

ACCZ president, Archbishop Johannes Ndanga said his association is taking heed of President Mnangagwa’s calls for peaceful elections.

According to Archbishop Ndanga, conflicts often escalate during the period immediately prior to, during and after elections.

“We believe the church, as ambassadors of peace, should continue to preach peace and harmony,” he said.

Archbishop Ndanga said the gatherings are open to everyone.

“We are inviting everyone Zimbabwean to come and show solidarity. As ACCZ, we condemn, in the strongest terms, the acts of banditry that were recently witnessed at White City stadium in Bulawayo,” he said.

The ACCZ joins political parties and civil society in calling for peaceful elections.
