The trial of three civic society leaders who allegedly protested outside the Harare Magistrates Court against the arrest of Jameson Timba and 78 other CCC activists has been postponed to February 28 after the arresting officer, who is a State witness, failed to show up.
This prompted Harare magistrate, Ms Rufaro Panavanhu, to issue a warrant of arrest for the arresting officer, Donald Chingarafa, for failing to attend court.
The trio stands accused of participating in a protest at the Harare Magistrates’ Court after Citizens Coalition for Change members had been arrested for gathering unlawfully.
