AEDS to host Zim-China Trade Fair

Harare Exhibition Park.
Various Asian companies and Chinese firms will attend the investment fair to be held under the theme “Unleashing Zimbabwe’s Potential and “Turning Minerals into Dollars!” .
“Since the adoption of the Look East Policy by the Government there has been considerable trade between Zimbabwe and Asian countries,” a spokesperson for AEDS said in a statement yesterday.
“As a result, most companies between Zimbabwe and Asian countries witnessed a continuous and sustainable growth in trade and investment. However, middlemen are facilitating such trade. This has resulted in the increase in the cost of doing business.”
During the fair, AEDS will facilitate participants with efficient one-on-one negotiation opportunities arranged in line with investment destinations, such as Asia, Europe, America, Africa and Oceania.
The spokesperson said to make the fair experience more fruitful and ensure more opportunities to negotiate with the potential investors and traders, the Match-making Symposium has been lined up.
Through highly results-oriented match-making mechanisms, the Match-making Symposium enables the investment promotion agencies around the world to identify potential Chinese investors and enterprises to locate the appropriate projects they would need to venture into.
AEDS is one of the few active and hands-on policy research and capacity building institutions in Zimbabwe. Its mandate spreads across promoting alternative development strategies and economic thinking to deal with African problems following the global financial crisis.
