ASPIRING Mutare-based gospel musician, Joseph Maphosa, has released his second10-track album, Mene Mene Volume 2.
The album followed Mene Mene Volume 1 which was released in 2014 with seven tracks, Mene, Vana Vangu, Nehemia, Ndapfugama, Zvenharo and Emmanuel Ndichengeterewo.
This year’s album carries tracks like Mene Mene ‘Reggae Hit’, which talks about the effects of having too much pride as it does not guarantee anyone the kingdom of heaven after death.
The other song on the album is Jesus Died, whereby someone appreciates Jesus who died for our sins.
Other songs include Cease fire, Marinyanya, Herod, I Never Mind, Ivai Nerudo, Rise Africa, Nzira Dzekare and Zvinhu Zvose Ndezvavo.
“I am looking forward to release the DVD album for Mene Mene Volume 2 in January 2016 and I am working with my four band members, Godwill Mafake, Patrick Nyikizama, Charles Mhuriyengwe and Effort Muchayi,” said Maphosa.
He added that two of his band members left after the first album and no one knows their whereabouts at the moment.
“My first project was well received and I recorded it at Kunashe Studios in Mutare. There has been a great improvement on the second album as compared to the first one,” said the 31-year-old artiste.
Maphosa started his music career at a tender age of eight.
“I just loved listening and singing music especially at church, Apostolic Faith Mission,” he said.
Like any other upcoming artistes, Maphosa laments lack of resources.
