Afro-House producer Dr Breezy unveils EP collaboration with Luchi Shiki, Apollo Soule

Rising Afro-house producer Dr Breezy (born Brandon Nduna) is putting the final touches on his upcoming EP, Uhambo, set for release under Afreeka Records. The EP is a vibrant blend of African beats, soulful vocals, and hypnotic house melodies, showcasing Dr Breezy’s unique sound.

Featuring standout collaborations with vocal powerhouse Luchi Shiki (born Luzon Tabona Moyo) and renowned producer Apollo Soule (born Sicelo Ngwenya), the two-track EP promises to make waves in the house music scene, as hinted by early teasers.

Dr Breezy explained that Uhambo brings a dynamic fusion of African rhythms, soul, and deep house energy.

“Uhambo (meaning ‘journey’ in Zulu) is more than just a collection of tracks – it’s an immersive musical experience reflecting the evolution of Afro-House. The EP blends deep, rhythmic basslines with intricate percussive elements, taking listeners on a sonic voyage that celebrates both the heritage and future of African electronic music,” he said.

The title track, Uhambo, featuring the rich, emotive vocals of Luchi Shiki, is described as an anthem of self-discovery and resilience. A collaborative effort with Apollo Soule, the track merges soulful melodies with deep house grooves, creating a captivating soundscape.

The second track, Yahwee, stands out as a testament to the power of rhythm and spirit. Dr Breezy described it as a fusion of Luchi Shiki’s velvety vocals with his own dynamic style.

“Yahwee offers a meditative yet uplifting soundscape, seamlessly blending traditional African elements with modern Afro House beats. It’s an anthem for soul-searching and self-discovery, perfect for both deep reflection and celebratory moments,” he said.

Reflecting on the collaborations, Dr Breezy added, “Working with Luchi and Apollo has been an incredible experience. The deep connections we’ve formed are amazing, especially with Yahwee. I hope listeners feel that spiritual connection.”

Dr Breezy, an Afro House and Afrotech DJ/producer based in Bulawayo, describes his sound as Afro-House that blends hard-hitting basslines with melodic, traditional, and contemporary house elements. His ability to craft dynamic yet danceable tracks has earned him a growing fan-base locally and internationally.

Luchi Shiki, known for her powerful and soulful voice, brings a dynamic presence to the EP. Her ability to evoke deep emotions through her lyrics has made her a sought-after collaborator in the Afro House scene.

Apollo Soule, a versatile producer and DJ, blends Afro, tech, and soul elements. His collaboration on Uhambo adds a fresh, modern edge to the project.
