Madzima, popularly known as Astrue, said the EP is mainly focusing on love songs.
“Different situations that we encounter every day about relationships, and the zeal to appreciate women and the girl child inspired me to make the EP about love,” he said.
Astrue said there might be some features, with big names on the tracks.
He said it took some time for him to release other tracks after the song, Datan naKora, in which he featured Mambo Dhuterere, made him popular as he wanted to give people a product of similar quality.
Madzima said it was hard to make inroads in the music industry because it comes with a lot of expectations.
“If you find a way in the industry, the challenge will be on the quality of whatever that you want to bring out because people are always judgemental,” he said.
He added that in order to produce quality products there is need for funding, which is a bit challenging.
“We need support from the Government in as much as they support other artists who visit the country, we also need that hospitality they give to foreign artists.
“In times of natural disasters, they should also know that artists get money from shows so if we are not getting any shows they have to, at least, provide funds or even food, to help us through the pandemic,” he said.
The EP will be dropped on his social media platforms and he is expecting it to be big.
“I also hope that the five-track EP will change people’s minds as far as love is concerned,” he said.
