For a 40-year-old man from North End suburb, having his bread buttered on both sides was the best that he could ever have. However, to his shame all his fantasies were brought to a halt after his secret of being sexually involved with his landlord’s under-age daughter was exposed.
The man, who stays with his wife, allegedly proposed his love to the 15-year-old some time in December 2018.
Before agreeing to be his girlfriend, the minor allegedly consulted her friend who advised her to agree to the proposal as long as he would give her money.
As the relationship continued, around February the man allegedly asked to have sexual intercourse with the minor of which she refused.
According to State papers the following day the man’s wife travelled to Mozambique and he got took that chance to convince the girl to sleep with him and she eventually agreed.
“Around midnight, the man awoke the minor who was sleeping in the sitting room and took her to his room,” stated the prosecution.
He had sex with the minor that night.
Meanwhile, as time progressed, the romance between the two intensified to a point of the duo sending each other nude pictures.
“In September the man pleaded with the minor to send him her nudes and she sent one with her bra only.
“The man then told the minor that he wanted to see her privates on the phone and she told him that her phone had poor picture quality,” stated the prosecution.
On 26 August, the minor’s aunt took her phone and browsed through WhatsApp where she saw the conversations between the duo. The aunt got suspicious and went to report the matter to the police.
Appearing before Bulawayo magistrate Racheal Mukanga, the man denied the charges of having intercourse with a minor.
He was remanded out of custody on $150 bail for continuation of trial on the 17th of October.
