Agora Club Zimbabwe and Rafiki Girls Centre are teaming up to bring a Bridgerton-themed event for a fundraiser.
Dubbed ‘The President Charity Ball,’ Agora Club Zimbabwe is a charity organisation that helps young girls. Running under the theme Queen Charlotte Ball —The Ball Harareton Affair’ the event aims to raise funds for Rafiki Girls Centre.
They also aim to raise equipment like two industrial sewing machines, two overlockers, one catering fridge, and one gas stove.
Agora Club Zimbabwe president Chido Musasiwa said the club resonates deeply as they empower these young girls to become independent
“We are thrilled to partner with Agora Club Zimbabwe, a service club affiliated with Agora Club International and part of the Round Table family.
“Our motto is ‘Building for Sustainable Growth’.
“It’s a part of Agora Club International, which is made up of women that are 42 years and above. And we then do charity work. So, it’s only women. But when we do our events, we invite men and young people as well.
“So we are working with Rafiki School for Girls, so they’re the ones that we are doing fundraising for the year that I am president.
“This gala dinner is to try and raise money for their needs. So, they want two industrial centres.
“So we are looking for sewing machines, two overlockers, catering fridges, gas stoves.
“The reason why we chose Rafiki School for girls is because we want to, our motto is building for sustainable growth.
“We want to work with charities that are investing in kids, not just by money but by giving them tools that they can then look after themselves down the line.
“So that’s why we chose Rafiki Girls Centre.
“Our theme is like a Bridgerton theme, we are just hoping that people will support.
“People can support by coming to the dinner, or by donating any of the things that are on the wish list here at Rafiki,” she said.
Rafiki Girls Centre is a trust that empowers orphaned and other vulnerable girls and young women with life skills.
