THE Association of Healthcare Funders of Zimbabwe (AHFoZ) has officially commenced its 2025 Annual All-Stakeholders Conference on Health at the prestigious here in Victoria Falls, following a productive Healthcare Innovation Workshop held on Wednesday.
The conference is being held under the theme: Promoting Innovation to Achieve an Equitable and Sustainable Healthcare System.
The event has drawn a diverse gathering of local and international healthcare experts, policymakers, and industry leaders, all converging to explore innovative pathways toward a more equitable and sustainable healthcare system for Zimbabwe.
The conference is set to be officially opened by the Minister of Health and Child Care, Dr Douglas Mombeshora who is the guest of honour.
His address is expected to set the tone for the discussions, emphasising the Government’s commitment to strengthening the health sector through collaboration and innovation.
The opening session will be preceded by an economic outlook presentation by renowned economist Mr Eddie Cross, who will focus on the economic dimensions of healthcare, and a contextual overview by AHFoZ CEO Ms Shylet Sanyanga.
Delegates can look forward to a rich agenda designed to foster dialogue and partnership.
Key expectations include exploring opportunities for Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs), with insights from the Ministry of Health and Child Care on achievements and challenges.
International perspectives will also be shared, notably from the United Kingdom’s Nicola Jedrej on customer engagement in health insurance, and virtual presentations on autonomous insurers and value-based care by global experts.
The conference aims to promote innovation, improve healthcare delivery, and enhance stakeholder collaboration.
With sessions on pandemic readiness, regulation, and African cultural perspectives on health, the event is set to be a catalyst for transformative discussions and actionable strategies that will shape the future of healthcare in Zimbabwe and beyond.
