TROUBLED Dynamos are staring down the barrel of a gun.

With a FIFA ban from registering or transferring players both locally and internationally looming, unless they act inside the next 48 hours, Dynamos were yesterday summoned to a Premier Soccer League disciplinary committee hearing for causing the premature ending of their match against FC Platinum at Mandava.

Dynamos have until the end of tomorrow to settle the outstanding payments owed to two of their former players — Emmanuel Paga and Fredrick Ansah Botchway.

The Ghanaian pair is owed a collective US$18 500, which must be paid as prescribed by the FIFA Disciplinary Committee in order to avert a ban from operating on the transfer market for an initial three windows.

It emerged that Dynamos management have been hopping from one corporate door to another to try and raise the money to pay off Paga and Botchway who have now moved to Manica Diamonds and Scottland respectively.

Efforts to get clarification from club chairman Moses Maunganidze and his management crew drew blanks yesterday.

But sources revealed that broke Dynamos, who three weeks ago withdrew from participating in the CAF Confederation Cup were still making frantic efforts to pay off Paga and Botchway and avert the calamitous transfer ban.

Should the transfer ban come into effect, it would put a damper on new coach Saul Chaminuka’s bid to beef up his side that is swimming in dangerous relegation waters.

Dynamos have a pale shadow of the storied institution and lie just three places above basement side Kwekwe United with a paltry 14 points and just two wins from 17 games.

As if that was not enough, the PSL indicated that Dynamos would be hauled before their disciplinary committee on July 8 to answer to misconduct charges likely to bring the league and their sponsors and partners into disrepute.

“The Premier Soccer League has summoned Dynamos FC to appear before the PSL Disciplinary Committee following the abandonment of their Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match against FC Platinum played at Mandava Stadium on Sunday, 22 June 2025,” read a statement by PSL spokesperson Kudzai Bare.

“Dynamos FC is being charged with causing the abandonment of a match and ungentlemanly conduct by the team’s technical officials.

The club head coach Saul Chaminuka, also faces a barrage of charges.

“Dynamos FC head coach Saul Chaminuka has also been summoned to appear before the PSL Disciplinary Committee.

“His charges include disturbing the normal proceedings of a match, causing abandonment, ungentlemanly conduct and issuing reckless statements to the media likely to bring the game, sponsors, the League, ZIFA, CAF or FIFA into disrepute,” added Bare.

If found guilty of causing the abandonment, Dynamos could face a heavy fine and points deduction, a punishment that would further dent their already faltering campaign.

But before they make their way to the PSL offices in Eastlea early next month, DeMbare have the FIFA ban to fend off in a matter of hours.

The ailing Harare giants are paying a huge price for their lack of professionalism in the way they handled player contracts especially for their foreign pair of Paga and Botchway.

Now Dynamos cannot afford to make part payments as they abused that grace period before the matter had been taken to the FIFA FDC.

After their deliberations in Zurich, Switzerland, FIFA’s FDC then ordered that US$8 500 be paid to winger Paga for his outstanding salaries and bonuses while midfielder Botchway must be given the US$10 000 he is owed.

Away from the off-field crisis, Chaminuka, whose only win so far was a 1-0 triumph over Yadah Stars, must galvanise his rookies for a cagey assignment on Saturday against ZPC Kariba who have a knack for being mean at Nyamhunga.
