reported to be delaying some of its flights. Worldspan is a provider of travel technology and content, and a part of the Travelport GDS business.
Its primary system is commonly known as a Global Distribution System. It is used by travel agents and travel- related websites to book airline tickets, hotel rooms, rental cars, tour packages and associated products.
In an interview, Airzim chief executive Mr Innocent Mavhunga said the airline would be back on electronic system in a few weeks’ time.
“I can confirm that we are in the process of getting reconnected. However, it is a process which we have no control over, therefore we cannot determine when it will be completed. It could be done in a few weeks once the service supplier has completed compiling data on our flights,” Mr Mavhunga said.
Air Zimbabwe has not been using the system for the past year although it had renewed its membership with Worldspan. The national airline recently resumed local and regional flights after a year’s absence. Air Zimbabwe has re-introduced the Harare-Bulawayo-Victoria Falls and the Harare-Johannesburg flights.
